GUIDELINES:

 

  • Your syndromes / genetic disorders reference assignment must include a cover page (with the course name, name of assignment, syndromes/genetic disorders, and date).
  • Each syndrome / genetic disorder researched cannot be more than three pages long.
  • You must acquire information (not including citation for pic / image) from a minimum of 3 sources per syndrome / genetic disorder.
  • References must be attached for each individual syndrome / genetic disorder after the research for each individual syndromes / genetic disorder (not at the end of the assignment).
  • Each syndrome / genetic disorder must include a picture/image. If you take the picture/image off a website, you are required to reference the website.

 

Part 2:  CREATE A CHILDREN’S BOOK (HARD COPY) EXPLAINING ONE SYNDROME / GENETIC DISORDER – weighted at 10%

 

  1. (a)Write and (b)illustrate a children’s book (hard copy) about one of the syndromes / genetic disorders that you researched in Part 1.

 

It is a children’s book; therefore, it must be written / illustrated simply so that a child can understand it.  It may be a child living with the syndrome / genetic disorder, a sibling, friend, classmate, or other relatives.

 

Please note, the maximum number of pages for the children’s book is 6-10!

 

  1. In the children’s book, you must include the information that you researched about the syndrome / genetic disorder (see Part 1).

 

  1. In the children’s book, you must include a glossary of any technical terms used in the book (at the end, just like in a text).

 

Remember it is a children’s book so you must define the terms simply.
